Fight Night at the Morning Star Casino (Open)

The current event taking place in the Morning Star Casino was a minor Boxing event, nothing much, this is where all the up-and-comers and nobodies (unfortunately) fought, but it featured good fight cards at times.

The capacity of the spectators varied, sometimes they weren't many, at times there was a lot, and rarely packed. But when it's packed, expect that there might be some good fights about to happen because of the popularity or hype of a few fighters.

Although Tyrone wasn't as big in terms of popularity as he once was, he was still well-known, many people went to watch him, as they were loyal fans of Tyrone, they never gave up on him.

~~~~In the Changing Room~~~~

Tyrone was sitting on a chair, his Boxing Shorts were totally black and the only exception being the white waistband which featured his surname on the front in big bold black letters, white stripes that went down along the sides and also having white Low Top Boxing Shoes, these things made his usual Boxing attire. Tyrone was about to go up, he had a good warm-up, now it was time to wait until he was in the ring to run over his opponent...

Tyrone had different kinds of cornermen each fight, so he didn't really trust any of them, and so he only trusted himself most of the time, he gave himself the instructions, the cornermen were only there to give him a drink of water and reduce the swelling if it ever came upon him.

A few minutes later Tyrone was called up and he proceeded with his cornermen to the ring, after he walked into the open, a burst of cheers rushed him, Tyrone couldn't hold back his smile, he was still happy to hear the cheers, his fans.

Tyrone got in the ring and looked at his opponent, the man was 5'10", 3 inches more than himself, Tyrone didn't care, he had the power to win, if he got a good shot in...

After the introductions Tyrone walked to the middle for the rules, the man gave him a intense stare until they went back to their corners...

"Do what you usually do Tyrone, be relaxed, figure him out, see what he can do and then pump it up once you know him a little more, eh?" Tyrone nodded, that was his plan in the first place, if he rushed in like a blind fool he would be hurt pretty badly, he heard the bell a second later and got into his stance...

The beginning of the fight was on!

Average night! Lani was bored, her bigger show was a little bit earlier anly saw a pretty good turn out of 50 to 100 people but for now she would work as a bar tender behind a nearby bar until her later show. She wasn't exactly thrilled to do this bar tending job but she was fairly lonely and didn't have anything else better to do, at least maybe she would be able to talk to the occasional person who came to sit it out and have a drink. Her brother had a family, he had someone to take care of and love and just to be with. Lani on the other hand, didn't and she would much rather be at work than be all alone in a small apartment.

Business got really slow as a bunch of people gathered around a nearby ring where small-time or professional boxers came just to put on a show. Lani wasn't a big fan of the fighting but tonight she would watch it out of boredom. She grabbed a glass and started cleaning it with a cloth as she watched the two random fighters in the ring prepare to rough each other up. Both of the men seemed fairly tall and were both fairly cute, both were darker in colour. Lani continued watching despite the few from the crowd that came to get a quick drink, she served them but still kept her focus on the two men.

Tyrone was being cautious, same for his opponent, they were scoping each other out... Tyrone decided to make the first move.

The man retaliated with long jabs, trying to keep Tyrone at bay, Tyrone started weaving, dodging the punches, and went inside on him, he started throwing body shots and the occasional head shot, the man always tried to get away but Tyrone kept close and battered his body and always threw a head shot if he was concentrating too much on guarding his body...

The round ended with Tyrone winning that one big time, they both went back to their corners, Tyrone (as usual) didn't listen to his corner and simply drank some water while he waited for the next round to start... as it did he stood up and heard the bell signal the next round. 6 rounds, he used to fight 10 rounders, but now he was making his way up again... well, it didn't matter to him.

Tyrone closed in on his opponent almost immediately and started pummeling him, the man had trouble getting away as Tyrone pushed him against the ropes and battered him... Tyrone was dominating him, he knew that himself, until...

BANG! A big punch lands and Tyrone falls to the canvas!... he didn't know what he was hit by... a hook? A uppercut? A right? He suddenly heard the referee counting and got up, the crowd were on their feet now! "I'm ok! Let's fight!" the referee nodded and resumed the fight, the man charged Tyrone like a bull now, it was the other way around... Tyrone wasn't going to have none of it. Tyrone start throwing punches again, considering who brawled better, Tyrone was better off, but since he was still a bit shook up, a punch could put him on the canvas again. During the exchange between the two, Tyrone landed a amazing 4-punch combo, shaking his opponent up. But as he did, the round ended...

Tyrone went back to his corner and asked his cornermen something, "What did I get hit by?" one of them spoke up, "A chopping right, it came right down and hit you hard Tyrone, I'm surprised your still awake after that." Tyrone smirked for once, "If this guy is going to put me away he'll have to hit me way harder than that."

Lani didn't know the rules of the game but she watched quite intently now even if it was still just violence to her. She watched the Cuban dude land that hit and Lani gasped out loud when Tyrone got hit and went down, a guy sitting at the bar looked at her with an alert look on his face, he saw that she gasped at the boxing match that was going on and just turned his head and laughed. Lani was embarrassed and continued cleaning and polishing glasses, keeping her eye on the game in the mean time.

The signal bell for the 3rd round was heard, and Tyrone got up... it was the middle of the fight so far, so he had to pump it up and get back into it.

He was still somewhat fresh after throwing all those punches, he was still going to pursue this guy till the end of the 6th round... if it went to the end of the 6th round that is.

As soon as the 3rd round started, Tyrone made his way to his opponent, this man wasn't going to knock him out, Tyrone been through much worse than this... that's for sure! Tyrone closed on on his opponent while avoiding his jabs, his jabs were nothing, it was just that right he got hit with that he had to be cautious about.

Tyrone battered the man's body as usual, enough that Tyrone's body attacks were starting to hurt his opponent, Tyrone has been relentless with the body, and occasionally switched it up to keep the guy guessing, so he was landing quite a few.

Tyrone won the 1st, but lost the 2nd probably because of the knockdown, it was time to even things out. Tyrone sent a vicious uppercut hitting the man roughly on the face, and then came back with a huge body shot to his liver, a second later, his opponent fell to his knees!

The crowd was cheering again, Tyrone could hear it, he went to the neutral corner while the referee gave his opponent the count... "7!... 8!... 9!..." the man got up at 9, but Tyrone knew he was still hurting, it was time to finish him off!

Tyrone made his way to the man but as he did the man came out with a relentless barrage to keep Tyrone at bay, Tyrone dodged a few and was hit by a few, but this man was desperate now, perhaps this was his last resort. Tyrone came back with a barrage as well to meet his opponent's brawl.

Tyrone hit the man in the body hard when he sent a wide hook, the man groaned loudly; this man had heart, he kept standing despite Tyrone's powerful shots. The man then sent a right a second later; the same right that knocked Tyrone down, Tyrone made a slight smirk, it wasn't going to work on him twice!

Tyrone ducked his head to dodge the oncoming punch and sent a counter overhand right, a bang could be heard as the man was hit squarely in the face by Tyrone's looping right hand, and then a thud a second later...

"DOWN! Go to a neutral corner!" the referee lightly pushed away Tyrone and started counting, Tyrone made his way to a neutral corner, and then looked at his right fist... that was a hard punch, no way he could be conscious...

"8!..." the man got up to his feet but stumbled into the ropes, unsure of where he was, it was already known that the fight was over, the referee waved his hands in the air signaling the end of the fight and directed the disoriented fighter back to his corner.

Tyrone was already back at his corner getting congratulated by his cornermen, he could hear the crowd's applause... it was heartwarming, he would never forget the feeling he got after a victory, and this one was well earned.

~~~~About 15 Minutes Later~~~~

Tyrone was before the Main Events, so the remaining fights were still going on, Tyrone was dressed up in a white hoodie, dark blue jeans, and black sneakers. Some people came up to him to congratulate him, "Tyrone is it? Great fight! That was some right hand you gave him!" Tyrone chuckled, he still wasn't used to compliments like this, "Well, I wouldn't let the same trick happen to me a 2nd time right?" he nodded and talked to some of his fans for awhile before going to the bar.

As Tyrone spotted the bar he stopped in his tracks... what he saw was something unbelievable... he was simply flabbergasted, what was this feeling? It wasn't like any other feelings before, of course he had something similar to this feeling, but this one feeling was simply beyond explaining, it was... really powerful.

Tyrone was looking at Lani, his face was locked on hers, his face showed some surprise... Tyrone made his way slowly towards the bar, "Uhh... give me a beer, any brand." and of course, he was talking to Lani.

Lani was totally shocked from the fight, she had sympathy for both fighters seeing as she believed that no man should take a beating like the one that they were giving to each other. There were even some occasions in the fight where she just had to look away and was grateful when she had some work to do, a couple of people came to order a drink and she gladly took her attention from the fight and served the customers.

After the fight finished, Lani got a little bit busier since the crowd that was just watching that fight wanted drinks now so she gladly served each of them who didn't stay long, they just took their drinks and went to see another show or do a bit of gambling.

By the time Tyrone came to the bar to order his drink, the business was already a little bit quieter, Lani looked at him and nodded, turning around to grab a glass and poured him his beer. She put the beer on the counter for him and decided that she would take it a bit easier now, she WAS working fairly hard and she still had a late show that was still in schedule for 11pm. In the mean time she would chat it up a little bit.

"That was some fight" she said, wiping the bar clean and polishing it over with a cloth, "I'm not a big fan of the sport but you earned that win".

Some decided, sit by the bar and have a little drink, Tyrone decided to do that too, he took a seat and drank his beer, "Thanks, it's another way for me to pay my expenses." Tyrone looked at his beer, "...And other stuff then that too, but most of all, I do it because I love it." Tyrone looked at Lani, "Ya, I did, I didn't beat up on that guy for nothing now did I?" Tyrone took drank some of his beer. Tyrone kept looking at her, man... she was pretty, Tyrone couldn't take his eyes off her... he needed to know her name.

"Hmm... if it's ok, can I know your name?"

Lani continued looking for things to do to keep herself busy, if she stopped working she would just realize how tired she was. She continued to talk to the boxer, "Yeah you gotta pay the bill somehow I guess. I'm not really such a big fan of the violence, I just watched it cause... There's nothing better to do" she smiled as though she was about to laugh.

Tyrone asked one more thing after the bit of small talk that went on,
"Hmm... if it's ok, can I know your name?"
Lani smiled and reached out her hand to shake his, "I'm Lani, how about you?"

Tyrone shook her hand, "Tyrone, Tyrone Davidson." Tyrone nodded and let go after awhile, "Nice to meet ya, so it seems your really bored eh? Obviously." Tyrone took time to drink his beer, "Well, the fights shouldn't be much longer, they're almost over."

"Pleased to meet you, Tyrone Davidson" Lani said with a laid back smile, she had always thrown a little flirt in to a conversation or a bit of her own charm if she met someone as charming and or friendly as Tyrone seemed to be, tonight would be no different despite his sporting interests. Lani took a moment to think up an interesting conversation subject in order to keep their little chat going until sadly, she noticed another man come up to the bar, she looked at Tyrone and then at the man who seemed to be gloomy. He was probably one of the many few thousand people that came in every day and lose a lifetime worth amount of money, "Well excuse me Tyrone, I have a customer" she said. Not wasting any time, she moved over towards the man who just sat their, the depression radiating from the man was obvious, "What can I get ya?" Lani looked at the man and awaited his response.

The stranger looked up at Lani and took a minute, he scoffed and placed his order, "My money back, my wife and kids and my house for a starters".

Lani had a feeling of guilt sweep over her, even if it wasn't her fault that the man blew all his money on the poke machines and lost his wife and children because of it.

The man saw the feeling he had put into her and placed a $5 note on to the table, "Whatever I can with this... It's all I got left, I might as well blow it on a drink" The man knew that it was either alcohol or a cheap hotel in Metrix.

Lani took the $5 and put it in her cash register, she turn and gave him the same beer that she gave Tyrone, "I'll pay for the rest" she told him before moving back towards Tyrone.

Tyrone looked at the depressed man from the corner of his eyes... he felt sorry for him, even though he didn't know what he was going through, he never had a family, or many relationships to begin with, he had some in Jr. High and High School, and then some out of school, but since he was so busy he broke off with them eventually... actually, maybe he did know what he was going through a tiny bit.

The man continued to drink his beer in a very depressed way, like not giving a heck what happened, like if something happened and he dropped his beer on himself, Tyrone thought he would just get up and leave and not even make a scene.

Tyrone sighed, "Sometimes I hate seeing people like that, I wish I could do something for them..." Tyrone wanted to give that guy some money, but what would he do with it? Gamble it away? Tyrone didn't want to give him money for him to spend away uselessly. He decided to leave the man alone to figure out his problems himself.

Tyrone looked back at Lani, "This might seem a bit too early, but when do you get off work Lani? I could take you out for something to eat or something." Tyrone took out a envelope that was supposedly full of money, "I got my fight money, and I gotta use it on something you know." Tyrone said this with a sly smile.

Lani now long forgotten about the man, it was his own fault for being a jackass and cheating on his wife with the casino games and now continued her small conversation with Tyrone, she leaned over the counter and laughed as thought some girls would if they were being hit on. She looked at her wrist watch to gather the information for Tyrone, "Well, I finish up here in 2 or 3 minutes and then I need to go do an opening for a show but after that I'm not doing anything. Actually I was planning to go home, have some dinner and go to sleep"

Lani knew that her evening didn't sound to exciting and it wasn't, sleep was usually something she looked forward to though, she hated working for this casino, rich snobs everywhere, idiots and losers who gambled away their everything and then went to order a drink, taking their frustrations out on her. She hated the way she was treated by her boss, even singing was an unpleasant experience in this place. Still, the only time she really liked being at home was when she was there for sleep.

Tyrone kept his smile on, "Alright, I'll bring you for something quick to eat, then you can go home, I don't want to keep you from your beauty sleep." Tyrone wanted to take her out once, he needed to, or he wouldn't be satisfied.

Besides, he had work tomorrow...

Lani saw her fellow employee, Jeff come towards the bar to take his shift. She let him in on her way out and went to Tyrone to let him know that she was good to go. Jeff smirked at her as if he was suspicious of her going home with this guy but Lani just rolled her eyes and decided to bite back, "Enjoy the late night customers, Jeffy" she said in a somewhat mocking tone. The late night customers were usually the most depressed, couples who just got married or even a single person FROM a couple that didn't care for their marriage anymore.

Jeff sighed and waved Lani goodbye as she started walking towards the restaurant area with Tyrone, she would sing in different places of the casino at different times but tonight she was singing for the snobs, it didn't bother her much because despite what they all thought of her, she enjoyed what she did. Besides, she had company tonight so she wouldn't feel so backed into a corner.

They finally got to the restaurant, "Could you stay here for a sec? Maybe find a seat? I just gotta set up" she said as she slipped away to go find the owner or the restaurant to notify them that she was there, the boss nodded and let her get on stage, set up the microphone and give her opening to the band that would be playing there for the rest of the night.

Tyrone was happy she was going with him, although his looks gave people the impression that he looked rough and unpolished with the beard and all, it also (in a way) made him look somewhat mature, and besides, he had good intentions... he didn't want to ruin his starting friendship with Lani.

Tyrone followed her to the restaurant area, he listened to Lani and took a seat, set up? Tyrone looked around and seen a stage... oh... she was having a act? Tyrone was even more interested in her now, what was she doing? He proceeded to order some wine.

As he received the wine bottle and a wine glass, Lani came on stage with a band behind her, he poured himself some wine and took a sip while watching Lani.

Lani nodded to the band to let them know that she was ready so they started off with a smooth but slow jazzy sound, the song itself was going to be more like blues fused with jazz, purely to give everyone that nostalgic feeling. Lani waited for her time to drop in and start singing, it drew closer and closer and then...

"I'm so tired... of playin'...
playin' with this bow and arrow
I'm gonna give my heart away, leave it to the other girls to play
for I've been a temptress for far too long... Oooh Yes"

First verse finished and it was time for the chorus, Lani got straight into it, she kept the same pitch so her voice would remain sweet sounding and pleasing to the ear of everyone in the room.

The chorus finished and it was time for the next verse

"From this time, unchained we're all looking at a different picture

The electric guitar came in during the fairly long break between this verse and the next and added a little bit of flavor to it, the band was really putting their heart into it to make it sound good for Lani, if the audience didn't like it, they did.

Lani threw a bit more power in to the last two words and the drummer did a minor solo to give it a little bit more effect.

Lani would finish the song just as she had started it but the band stopped so she could solo .

"So tired of playing, playing with this bow and arrow
I'm gonna give my heart away
and leave it for the other girls to play"

Lani paused for a second to let it sink in to the audience... But not too long, "Thank you" she said with a sweet smile as she walked off the stage, letting the band play a little more. She walked towards the table where Tyrone was sitting and sat down, "Well, I've finished working for the night".

Tyrone was astounded by her beautiful voice, so it was singing huh? Man... what a day, she had a great voice, great looks, and was quite friendly... Tyrone drank some more wine and kept listening.

After she finished, a applause sounded and they soon listened to the band play some good ol' Jazz.

Tyrone looked at her when she came, "So your a singer huh? Wow, I didn't know that, that's pretty good you know." He lifted up his wine glass, "Want some wine?" he also had two menus, one for him and one for her.

"Yup I've been singing since I was a kid, my brother played guitar to accompany me and at one point that was the only way I could sing" Lani said trying not to get another painful flashback of that tragic loss of her parents.

Lani nodded to let Tyrone know that she did in fact want some wine, "So what about you? How did you wind up here?" she asked curiously.
